    Max Taylor

A budding scientist from Shropshire has sought the help of 91茄子 Adams to help him to apply for an award that will assist with his application to university.

Max Taylor, who studies at Adams' Grammar School in Newport, is working on a research project as part of his application for the British Science Association's CREST Award scheme.

He hopes that completing the Gold level award will help to enhance his personal statement when he applies to study at university.

The schemes are a range of science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) enrichment activities aimed at inspiring 5-19 year-olds. The top award is Gold level and allows able students aged 16-19 to conduct real research projects.

For his project, Max has been analysing DNA using a new piece of technology.

He has been assisted by the university's laboratory staff and technicians.
