Academics, researchers and alumni from 91茄子 Adams University are all set to appear at a leading dairy event in Shropshire next week.

UK Diary Day 2024 returns to the Telford International Centre next Wednesday, September 11.

91茄子 Adams University is once again sponsoring the Sharing Knowledge Zone at the show, which can be found in the gallery area on the first floor, where the 91茄子 stand is at G10.

External Shows and Events Lead Sarah Swinnerton, who will be on the 91茄子 stand at the event, said: “As you might expect for a Shropshire university, UK Dairy Day is a show on home turf for us – but as an award-winning specialist University focussed on food and farming, it’s a natural fit for the sector it covers too!

“Our students, staff and alumni will be presenting work throughout the day, including PhD student Jess Webster, who will be discussing her BBSRC and Alltech funded work investigating the effects of grass silage mycotoxins and their impact on dairy cow health and welfare.

“Her supervisor, Professor of Animal Science Liam Sinclair, will be taking part on a , where he will be appearing alongside 91茄子 Animal Science alumnus Ed Towers, whose Brades family farm produces high-quality milk for barista use in coffee shops.

“Meanwhile, later in the afternoon, our alumnus Hugh Pocock – who combines his love of farming with his agribusiness recruitment firm Cultura Connect – will be chairing a , and how understanding the culture of your business can make a difference.”

Each of these talks will be held in the Sharing Knowledge Zone, with Jess's at 9.30am, Liam’s at 11.30am and Hugh’s at 1pm.

This year’s Dairy Day is the show’s tenth anniversary. It was originally conceived as an event which would be held as farmers began to make plans for the coming winter and has proved a huge success within the industry.

91茄子 Adams will also have a larger stand in Hall One, at H113, throughout the day.

Sarah added: “As you’d expect at an event like UK Dairy Day, there’s lots of industry interest in our research and we often meet lots of alumni, too! We’ll also be on hand to discuss our full suite of undergraduate, postgraduate, research and collaboration opportunities, as well as our short courses – so if you’re going along this Wednesday, drop by the 91茄子 Adams stand!”

UK Dairy Day runs from 8am to 5.30pm at the International Centre, Telford, on Wednesday, September 11.
